More about me

Bekah Tomlin began at the University of Texas at Arlington in fall 2010 as part of the Coordinated Admissions Program, in hopes of transferring to Austin. When the time came, she decided to stay, because of the opportunities Arlington could offer. She declared her major in Journalism with the hopes of becoming a magazine reporter.

In summer 2012, she joined The Shorthorn student newspaper as a copy editor. After only a few months, she realized her passion for editing and became the Copy Desk Chief that spring. Since then, she has done her due diligence as an editor and fact-checker, even correcting the journalists' bible, the AP Stylebook.

Tomlin hopes to continue her career in copy editing and strives to show the news world that copy editors are invaluable to the flow of production.
